Corporate Social Responsibility
The University of Nairobi constantly engages in the core business of research, teaching and learning all for the benefit of empowering individuals who impact the society both locally and globally. Some of the projects that the University engages through its various units that directly impact the society are;-
1. WEE hub
The Women Economic Empowerment Hub (WEEhub) is a multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral organisation that produces cutting edge, innovative, rigorous, and accessible research in Affirmative Action Funds and Entrepreneurship; Women in formal and informal employment and women’s economic empowerment; Care economy and women’s work and women’s movement and policy advocacy for women’s economic empowerment.
2. Fahari ya Jamii
The UoN-USAID Fahari ya Jamii is a five-year project funded by the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the US Agency for International Development (USAID). The project is managed by the University of Nairobi (UON), working with Nairobi and Kajiado County health management teams. The project aims to increase equitable access and use of quality county-led health services and support sustainability in the quality of health services and systems in Nairobi and Kajiado Counties.

3. O3 Plus project in partnership with UNESCO
Our Rights, Our Lives, Our Future (O3 Plus) is a project aimed at ensuring that young people in higher and tertiary education institutions in the Eastern and Southern Africa realize positive health, education and gender equality outcomes through sustained reductions in new HIV infections, unintended pregnancy and gender based violence. The project will be implemented in Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe will enable young people reach their full educational potential and contribute more effectively to the development of their countries and region as graduates, professionals and young leaders.

4. The Annual CSR week
The University of Nairobi is partnering with various organizations to launch a Health Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) week from March 31st to April 6th, 2023. The aim of this event is to promote health and wellness among students, faculty, staff, and the local community. Through a series of webinars, participants will learn about various health topics and take steps towards improving their well-being.
