CEMA's COVID-19 situation report for WHO Africa Region
Produced by the Centre for Epidemiological Modelling and Analysis, University of Nairobi
Date: September 2, 2021
The Center for Epidemiological Modelling and Analysis (CEMA) at the University of Nairobi is now producing a weekly COVID-19 situational report for WHO-Afro countries. The report, produced as a collaboration with NIHR Global Health Research Unit Tackling Infections to Benefit Africa at University of Edinburgh, provides a series of country-specific comparisons of COVID-19 cases, deaths and weekly ratios of the cases and deaths to infer epidemic trajectory for each country in the WHO-Afro region.
The report is produced weekly (Fridays) and captures data on COVID-19 on the continent for the period up to the Thursday of each reporting week.
This is an important addition to the role CEMA continues to play in advancing health through use of data-driven decision making for Kenya and for the continent of Africa.
